Half disguised in Los Angeles

Monday, October 30th, 2000

Halloween was no fun this year. I guess people didn’t know if they should dress up on Friday, Saturday or Tuesday. I don’t know but I think they should assign Halloween a specific day; the last Friday… Saturday of the month or somethinglike that… kinda like Superbowl Sunday, Manic Monday, Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Thanksgiving, Good Friday, Saturday Night Fever… etc. Actually, come to think of it, everyday seems like Halloween when live in LA, so much so that when the main event comes along, you barely notice the difference.

I just got my own parking spot at work today. Uncork the bubbly and bring out the whipped cream and handcuffs. It’s about time I would think: 1 year, 5 months and 18 days. I think they were waiting for me to get a car more worthy of an assigned spot and they finally gave up on the wait when they remembered how much I was getting paid.

Mouse or mice?

I know I’m not the first to ask this question but what’s the plural for your computer mouse?

I made a trip to the gym last night after a four month sojourn. And this was atop an hour of cold October tennis after work, a lethal combination that would only leave your limbs more limp than a string puppet without its strings. And what’s funny is that I’m looking forward to my evening game today.

Oh, I forgot to mention the two loud “booms” that forced me out of my skin on Tuesday. I was outside chatting with Jennifer when two bomb-going-off sounds erupted in the distance. For a moment I thought the Yemenese were at it again, or that God was about to make an announcement about the end of the world. The cause of the blast was later reported in the 8 o’clock news. A space shuttle had landed at Prince Edwards airport. Just how cool is that.

Touch down

Okay, I just realized I’ve not written to my journal for a good 20 days now. And it’s not that nothing has been happening. It would be the very opposite if anything. Give me a second while I interogate my memory.

Timothy Tan dropped out of the sky two weeks ago. He’s currently doing his PhD in Switzerland in the field of genetic biology or something to that effect. How cools is that? Imagine being at a party, some stranger walks up to you and starts engaging in chit chat and you finally get to the part where the “So what do you do for a living?” question pops up. “I’m a scientist.” Holy shiiiitt!!

Cloud 9 swept me off my feet like a magic carpet last, last Thursday/Friday as TWA 722 kissed LA tarmac. My lovey had landed and this is a brief summary of what we did for the next 6 days. Friday:Pizza dinner, met Connie, watched Elizabeth, Saturday: Went fishing, coffee and dinner with Mitsu, deep sea burial of Pickle, confrontation with mentally stunted stunt man at the pier, Met the Parents, Sunday: photo lesson at Venice Beach, dinner at The Lobster, fries afterwards, Don Juan, Monday: Beverly Center, drinks at HRC, dinner at PF Changs, the Matrix, Long Kiss Goodnight, Tuesday: Universal Walk, ice cream at HRC, Toy Story 2, major depression.

Last weekend was spent in Diego. It was a nice relaxing weekend up until I got my nuts blown off in laser tag.
